Could you spend a Night Without Light?
Living in darkness after the sun sets is the reality for 548 million people in sub-Saharan Africa lacking access to electricity.
To escape the darkness, families have no choice but to rely on poor alternatives to lighting such as toxic kerosene lamps or dangerous candles. These are damaging for both people and the planet.
On 18th November 2021 we are challenging everyone to go for one night without using electricity. That means no light, no internet, no phone and no TV!

On 18th November 2021, at sunset, challenge yourself to live without electricity until the next morning. You could do it solo, or with your colleagues/ family/ friends.
Raise awareness of the challenges of cooking, socialising and working in darkness, by sharing your experience on social media.
If you wish, you can use one of our solar powered lights to see how even a little light can make a huge difference. Visit our shop to get your own solar light!
