At 7.55am on 30 December, SolarAiders will be waking up early to hear Booker Prize winner, Ian McEwan, tell BBC Radio 4 listeners why he supports our work. To celebrate we want to give you this book (yes the one in the lovely sunny photo above).

Ian McEwan is a world-renowned writer who learnt about SolarAid following research into his 2010 novel, Solar. Now, as a treat, we are giving away a freshly signed copy to encourage an even wider audience to tune in and donate.

It’s easy to enter the competition. All you have to do is tweet the following* to your Twitter followers:

I’m listening to the Ian McEwan & @SolarAid #Radio4Appeal on 30 December at 7.55am & 9.26pm. #SolarContest

Enter before Monday 31 December and we will put your Twitter handle into a ballot. In the New Year we will randomly select a winner so remember check your Twitter messages/ timeline regularly!

If you’re as excited as we are then please check out a special behind the scenes recording and watch our reminder videos recorded by staff in Kenya and Zambia.

We hope you enjoy the BBC Radio 4 Appeal as much as we do. Remember, by sharing our work you are amplifying our message and encouraging more people to listen in and donate.
