We were very proud to be the charity partner of the 2013 Lighting Design Awards, held at the swanky London Hilton on Park Lane. The awards were designed to showcase the best lighting manufacturers, lighting retailers and lighting designers in the business.
There in force, we had 12 permanent staff and volunteers whipping up support and raising money for our solar projects.
We had a great time wandering the floor, chatting to lighting experts, telling them who we were and what we were aiming to achieve. We genuinely seemed to provoke a good swathe of interest and raised over £3,500 through the charity casino.
Congratulations to all the award winners on the evening – However, a special thank you must be extended to Beijing Institute of Architectural Design, Dandi Living, Dernier & Hamlyn, Creston, LITE, Morgan Sindall Professional Services, TM Lighting and Willy Meyer+Sohn who played a huge part in helping us reach our fantastic total (that’s around 600 solar lights guys!).
In the end, we just about managed to chat with visitors on every table, who not only donated but asked some great questions and provided messages of support.
A big ‘congratulations’ to those who managed to make it on to the list of winners, and to those who just missed out, better luck next year. We hope to see you there.
