SolarAid appoints Nick Pearson as Chief Executive Officer

We’re delighted to announce the appointment of Nick Pearson as SolarAid’s new Chief Executive Officer. Nick will join the organisation on 17 August 2026, bringing more than 30 years of international leadership experience across multinational business, social enterprise, impact investing and the off-grid energy sector.

Nick joins SolarAid at an exciting point in our journey as we continue working towards a future where everyone, everywhere has access to affordable, reliable and sustainable energy.

With more than three decades of international leadership experience, including 18 years living and working across sub-Saharan Africa, Nick brings a unique combination of commercial expertise and deep sector knowledge. His career has spanned senior leadership roles at Diageo, Mars and Reckitt Benckiser before moving into energy access as Group Commercial Director and Country CEO at PEG Africa, one of Africa’s leading pay-as-you-go solar companies. Most recently, he led Acumen’s Hardest to Reach Fund, supporting last-mile solar distributors serving some of the most underserved communities across sub-Saharan Africa.
