Power-Gen Africa is “Africa’s premier electricity industry event, covering power sector strategy, generation technology, renewable energy, transmission & distribution“, which takes place in Johannesburg every year.
This year we are very grateful that the conference organisers chose SolarAid as their charity of choice and helped raise donations in recognition of Nelson Mandela Day.
SolarAid Founder and Chairman, Jeremy Leggett was there to give one of the opening keynote speeches on behalf of SolarAid and to receive a cheque for R30,000 (that’s about £1782 today).
We are extremely grateful to Power-Gen for their contribution and recognition of SolarAid, as well as their work towards lighting up Africa. Let’s hope the conference leads to an increase in the deployment of solar over the coming year.
