2021: Ending the Darkness – one light at a time

John Keane

As the year is coming to an end, we are taking a step back to look at all the incredible achievements we have made together. What a year it has been. Let’s look back together (we recommend full screen!).

I want to thank all of our amazing supporters who have helped us reach more people this year as we bring solar lights and power to people in their homes, schools and health facilities. We simply cannot do this work without you. I also want to thank our teams, who work incredibly hard, often in tough environments.

We are excited by the programme of work we have planned in the coming year, which includes; Continuing to create access to solar lights in rural communities through schools, energy businesses and solar light libraries. Scaling up our work with female entrepreneurs in Malawi through our Mayi Walas programme, and in Senegal, through our partnership with ElleSolaire;  Ramping up our repair work, training and supporting technicians so that we can extend the life of ageing solar lights; Continuing our innovations work as we develop models intended to bring solar light and power to every home, school and clinic.

Thank you.

John Keane, CEO, SolarAid
