Ever since our very own SM100 was featured on BBC News and in the Financial Times things have been very exciting at SolarAid HQ!

Thanks to the amazing response we have temporarily sold out of SM100s in the UK! This shortage of supply in only in the UK shop and only temporary, as we ensure that we have enough to stock to meet demand in Africa.

Since then the SM100, the world’s most affordable solar light, has been featured in numerous articles around the world including Spain’s El Confidencial, Portugal’s Expresso, and the pan-African Face2Face Africa.

Our phone has been ringing off the hook with people asking about introducing the SM100 solar light in places across the globe, which is brilliant news!

Additionally, through our online shop, SM100s have been flying off the shelves.

The SM100s has sold faster than we predicted and it’s amazing to see the increase in people wanting to get their hands on one! But fear not! It is still possible to get your hands on the most affordable solar light in the world.

Through our e-shop you can pre-order your own SM100. We are working in conjunction with our brilliant manufacturing partners Yingli Solar to restock ASAP and estimate that the fresh new batch of SM100s will be available before the end of July.

Selling out of SM100s not only means that more people can enjoy this great little solar light and use it help spread our message, but it also means that we can provide access to affordable solar lights to even more people in rural Africa. This is because each light we sell through our e-shop has an in-built donation which goes straight to our work in Africa; together we are getting closer to eradicating the kerosene lamp from the continent.

Thank you to everyone who has bought an SM100.
