Payroll giving

Solar energy is particularly well adapted to Africa because of its high exposure to the sun. A regular donation through your payroll can help more poor communities in Africa benefit from this solar energy for their education, health and income.

Payroll giving is one of the most tax-effective ways of giving to SolarAid. Your gift is taken from your salary before your employer deducts any tax. So a regular gift of £10 given through the payroll scheme will only cost you £7.80 from your take-home pay.

If you’re a higher taxpayer, it’s even better: if you pay 40 per cent tax, a regular donation of £20 will only cost you £12.

If you want to give to SolarAid in this way, please ask your employer if they have a payroll-giving scheme.
If they do, you can sign-up via the post by downloading and printing out the payroll giving donation form.
