How do you sponsor an entrepreneur?

We ask our sponsors to make a regular donation of £20 per month – ideally for a minimum of one year – or to make a one off donation of £250. This gift will cover the costs of sponsoring a sunnymoney micro-franchisee for one year.

How it works

The funds generated by the sponsorship scheme are used to further SolarAid's work with entrepreneurs in Kenya. This means that your donation directly benefits your entrepreneur, without singling them out for preferential treatment. When sponsoring an entrepreneur, 80 percent of your donation will go towards their ongoing training and support, whilst 20 percent will cover management and administrative costs of the project.

What happens next?

Once you have become a sponsor, we will send you an e-welcome pack* and we will inform you about the different ways you can stay in touch with your entrepreneur and receive regular updates.

*Please note, you will not receive a welcome pack by post. This saves us money on overheads, making your donation go further. It also cuts our carbon emissions and use of the planet's resources.
